WALLA WALLA, Wash. -- A goal by Pacific junior
Evan Bleyer tied the match just before halftime.
But Whitman's Christian Gomez scored the game-winning goal in the 58th minute to defeat the Boxers 2-1 Sunday afternoon in Walla Walla.
Pacific recorded seven shots on goal, including two by
Adam Landy and one each from
Jericho Lara,
Jayden Adkison,
Aidan Heflin and
Brodie Buchert.
Heflin also assisted Bleyer's goal in the 44th minute.
Pacific goalkeeper
Keolakupono Mataele recorded four saves in the loss.
The Boxers dropped to 1-4-2 overall and 1-3 in the Northwest Conference.
Next, Pacific hosts Puget Sound on Friday, Sept. 29 at 7:30 p.m.
