Pacific facing scoring drought

WALLA, WALLA, Wash. -- Pacific's women's soccer team is in a scoring drought.

For the third straight match, the Boxers failed to score a goal, falling 1-0 at Whitman College Sunday afternoon.

Tied 0-0 late, Chaney Heinbaugh scored the only goal of the match in the 82nd minute on an assist from Lise Arrouye to give the Blues a 1-0 lead.

Pacific recorded three shots on goal from three different players -- Taite Taniguchi, Katelyn Volchok and Gwendolyn Saing. 

Goalkeeper Kylie Pascual had three saves in the first half before being replaced by Elle Hamilton in the second half.

The Boxers dropped to 2-5 overall and 1-3 in the Northwest Conference with the loss.

Next, Pacific hosts Puget Sound (5-2-1, 3-0-1) on Friday, Sept. 29 at 5 p.m.
