SALEM -- The fifth set has been tough for the Pacific volleyball team.
For the second time in the last three matches, the Boxers fell in five sets, losing 3-2 Friday night at Willamette.Â
After Pacific won the third set 25-17 to take a 2-1 lead, the Bearcats took the fourth set 25-16 to even the match.
The Boxers raced out to a 6-3 lead in the deciding set, but Willamette answered with a 5-0 run to take an 8-6 advantage and Pacific never led again.
Mara Murphy had 22 kills and two aces for the Boxers.
Kayla Craft recorded 12 kills and six blocks.
Emily Cheavtharn finished with 39 assists and 15 digs.
Claire Stipsits added 20 digs and seven assists.
Pacific is back on the road Saturday against Linfield.Â
