EUGENE -- Pacific was less than 7 minutes away from recording its first win of the 2023 season.
Instead, the Boxers (0-0-2) had to settle for 2-2 tie Monday night at Bushnell University.
Leading 2-1, Pacific gave up a goal by Javier Gutierrez in the 83rd minute to even the match.
Playing all 90 minutes, junior
Aidan Heflin scored a goal and added an assist for the Boxers.
After Heflin's goal put Pacific up 1-0 in the 11th minute, Walter Ruestle scored the equalizer in the 29th minute. But just before halftime, sophomore
Tyler Scott scored on an assist from Heflin to give the Boxers a 2-1 lead in the 41st minute.
Junior
Adam Landy also added a shot on goal for Pacific. Goalkeeper
Zach Aderinto recorded three saves.
Next up, the Boxers travel to Santa Cruz, California on Friday to play California Lutheran.Â
