Back home in the Stoller Center for the first time in 10 days, Pacific got off to a strong start, winning the first two sets, 25-20, 26-24, against Whitman.
But the Blues stormed back to reverse sweep the Boxers 3-2 Friday night in Northwest Conference play.
Pacific led 18-14 in the third set before Whitman went on a 5-0 run to take a 19-18 lead. Tied 24-24, the Blues scored two straight points to extend the match.
Trailing 14-21 in the fourth set, Pacific went on a 6-0 run to get within 20-21, but Whitman answered with four straight points to win 25-20.
The Boxers jumped out to a fast start in the fifth set, grabbing a 5-3 lead. But Whitman responded with a 7-1 run and never trailed again, winning 15-10.
Sophomore
Emma Velchek had 21 kills and 11 digs to lead the Boxers. Senior
Mara Murphy recorded 14 kills and 10 digs. Senior
Danica Nelson had 33 digs.
Pacific fell to 3-7 in the NWC with the loss while Whitman improved to 3-6.
