Pacific Lutheran came to Forest Grove a perfect 4-0, all sweeps, in the Northwest Conference.
While Pacific gave the Lutes their first blemish, winning a 33-31 marathon second set, the Boxers could not land any more punches, falling 3-1 Friday night inside the Stoller Center.
After dropping the first set 25-17, Pacific went back-and-forth with the Lutes in a second set that had 25 ties before the Boxers finished on a 4-1 run.
Mara Murphy recorded the final kill to tie the match at 1-1. The Pacific senior finished with 14 kills, three aces, nine digs and two blocks over four sets.Â
Pacific jumped out to a 13-6 lead in the third set. The Boxers led 19-14 when Pacific Lutheran answered with a 7-2 run to tie the set at 21-21. Down 25-24, Pacific scored two straight points to reach set point. However, the Lutes closed the set on a 3-0 run to win 28-26.
Pacific Lutheran took a 9-8 lead in the fourth set and held on to win 25-20 to finish off the Boxers.

Kayla Craft had 11 kills, four aces, two blocks and only one attack error. Freshman
Kayla-Jane Padayao recorded 17 assists and 10 digs. Senior libero
Danica Nelson added 27 digs and eight assists. Sophomore
Rose Everingham had a career-high five blocks.Â
