Pacific rallied in the final inning of both games.

However, the Boxers could not pull off the comeback in either, falling 7-5 and 5-1 in a doubleheader Sunday afternoon at Sherman/Larkins Stadium in Forest Grove.

Game 1

Trailing 7-1 entering the bottom of the seventh inning, Pacific scored four runs in the final frame. Reiko Flores-Wong delivered the big blow on a triple to center field with the bases loaded. Flores-Wong then scored on a Ryley Vickroy single to left field. 

Faith Lawson also had an RBI double in the game one loss.

Pitching in relief, Haleigh Colfelt threw 3 1/3 scoreless innings for the Boxers, allowing only two hits.

Game 2

Pacific tied the game at 1-1 in the bottom of the fourth inning as Kimberly Ray scored from third on an RBI single to left field by Chloe Knepp. But Bushnell answered with four runs in the top of the sixth, including a monster two-run homer to left field off the bat of Violet Richardson.

The Boxers got runners to second and third base with one out in the bottom of the seventh. But Bushnell pitcher, Emily Cole, who went all seven innings in the circle, struck out the final two Pacific batters to secure the win.

Next, the Boxers play at Portland State on Saturday, Feb. 24 before hosting Corban in a doubleheader on Sunday back at Sherman/Larkins Stadium.
