PORTLAND, Ore. -- With two outs in the top of the first inning, Pacific senior
CJ Colyer launched a solo home run to left field.
Colyer and the Boxers were just getting started, finishing with seven extra-base hits in a dominating 18-3 victory Friday afternoon at Lewis & Clark.
Already leading 6-0, Pacific added three runs in the fifth inning, seven in the seventh and two in the top of the ninth.
Colyer finished 2-for-5 with two home runs and three RBIs.
Damon Tanner was 3-for-5 with a double and three RBIs.
Jack Rhea went 2-for-2 with four walks, three runs and two RBIs.
Benjamin Lewis and
Walker Matthews also had two hits in the victory.
Chance Wallace (1-0) got the start on the mound, allowing just one hit and one earned run with three walks and six strikeouts over 4 1/3 innings to earn the win.
Next, Pacific hosts Puget Sound Sunday in a doubleheader beginning at noon.
