Pacific showed off its pitching depth Wednesday night.
Eight different Boxers combined to hold Corban to just two runs in a 3-2 nonconfernce victory at Chuck Bafaro Stadium in Forest Grove.
Senior
Shane Melrose got the start, pitching one scoreless inning, allowing just one base runner on a walk and recording a strikeout.
Trevor Kazahaya was the only Pacific pitcher to throw more than one inning. The freshman allowed one run on two walks.Â
Corban didn't record its first hit of the game until the fifth inning on a single to left field.
Pacific tied the game in the bottom of the sixth on a sacrifice fly to left field by junior

With two outs in the bottom of the seventh, senior
Elijah Gonzales gave the Boxers the lead with a double to right field, driving home seniors
CJ Colyer and
Dawson Tokishi.Â
On the mound, freshman
Alexander Mullen earned his first win at Pacific, pitching a scoreless seventh inning. Senior
Ayden Ruminski recorded the save.Â
After allowing three straight hits and a walk to begin the top of the ninth, Ruminski got a ground ball to first base, which Matthews fired home for the first out of the inning. Yukumoto then turned a double play on a ground ball to shortstop to end the game.Â
At the plate,
Matt Gibbs was 2-for-3 with a walk and two stolen bases.Â
The Boxers improved to 17-9 overall with the victory.Â
Next, Pacific begins a three-game Northwest Conference series at George Fox on Saturday, April 13.Â
