CJ Colyer continued to climb up the Pacific baseball record book Saturday.
The senior hit his 30th career home run, tied for third all-time, and his 15th of the spring, tied for second in a single season. But Colyer's long ball wasn't enough to get the Boxers past Pacific Lutheran with the Lutes winning game one 12-7 and then game two 16-1.
Pacific fell to 19-12 overall and 7-9 in the Northwest Conference with the two losses.
Game 1
Trailing 9-0, Pacific scored three runs in the bottom of the fourth inning, two in the fifth and two more in the sixth to get back in the game. But the Lutes answered with two runs in the top of the seventh and another run in the ninth to finish off the Boxers.
Pacific gave up 17 hits in the loss.
Colyer went 2-for-4 with a home run, a walk, two RBIs and two runs.
Ty Yukumoto finished 2-for-4 with a walk and score two runs.
Benjamin Lewis went 2-for-2 with a walk and scored a run.
Miles Bergman was 1-for-1 with a walk and two RBIs.
Game 2
Pacific Lutheran scored seven runs in the top of the second inning to jump on the Boxers early and never let up, finishing with another 17 hits.
Matt Gibbs drove in Yukumoto on an RBI single to center field in the bottom of the sixth for Pacific's only run of the game.
Yukumoto finished 2-for-4 in the loss.
Next, Pacific concludes the three-game series against Pacific Lutheran Sunday at noon.
