CJ Colyer again put on the Superman cape.
After the Boxers allowed 34 hits and 28 runs in two losses Saturday, Colyer shut down Pacific Lutheran Sunday, holding the Lutes to six hits and one run over eight innings to lead Pacific to a 7-2 Northwest Conference victory.
Colyer, who also had seven strikeouts, improved to 3-0 on the mound this season, lowering his ERA to 2.45 over 25 2/3 innings.
The Boxers jumped on Pacific Lutheran early, scoring three runs in the bottom of the first inning.
Colyer and
Ty Yukumoto scored on an RBI double to left field by
Matt Gibbs.
Benjamin Lewis then singled to center field to drive home Gibbs.
Gibbs finished 3-for-4 with two doubles, two runs and two RBIs. Lewis went 3-for-3 with three RBIs.
Pacific improved to 20-12 overall and 8-9 in the NWC with the win.
Next, the Boxers begin a three-game series at Puget Sound on Saturday, April 27.
