Pacific was held scoreless in game one, losing 13-0. Both offenses went back and forth in game two before Willamette pulled out a 6-5 win.
Game 1
After giving up two runs in the top of the first, Michelle Winfield and Faith Lawson each started off the game with a single. But the Boxers were not able to knock them in.
The Bearcats put runs on the board in every inning of the game while the Boxers were held hitless after the first frame.
Winfield was 1-for-3 in the game, Lawson was 1-for-2.
Game 2
Abby Surowiec started game two and threw 4 1/3 innings, giving up seven hits and four earned runs.
Pacific's offense woke up in the bottom of the second thanks to a solo home run from sophomore Chloe Knepp. Knepp added a double and another solo shot before the game was over, knocking in three of the Boxers five runs.
Freshman Kiara Baba relieved Surowiec in the fifth inning. She gave up no runs on one hit and struck out four batters in her 2 2/3 innings.
Down 6-2 in the fifth, Winfield doubled to left and scored Ashley Ballew from first base. The Boxers picked up two more runs in the bottom of the sixth but it wouldn't be enough, eventually losing 6-5.
Knepp went 3-for-3 with a double, two home runs and three RBIs.
Winfield went 1-for-3 with a walk, a double, and an RBI.
The Boxers dropped to 3-19 in Northwest Conference play after Sunday's doubleheader. Pacific will complete the series against Williamette on Wednesday beginning at 5 p.m.
