NEWBERG -- Pacific pitchers held George Fox to just eight earned runs over two games.
But the Bruins pitching was even better as Pacific fell 5-4 and 5-1 in a Northwest Conference doubleheader Sunday afternoon.
Game 1
In the circle, Pacific freshman
Karlie Espinoza held George Fox to only one run over the first six innings and junior
Carli Zanassi hit a three-run homer in the top of the fifth to give the Boxers a 4-1 lead.
But the Bruins answered with four runs in the bottom of the seventh inning, winning the game on a walk-off double to center field with two outs.
Kimberly Ray was 2-for-4 and scored a run for the Boxers in the loss.
Game 2
Pacific never led in game two as George Fox took a 3-0 lead in the bottom of the third inning.
Sophomore
Kayla Kodani drove in the Boxers only run of the game in the top of the fourth on a single to center field to score Zanassi from second base.
Kodani went 2-for-2 with a walk and RBI. Zanassi went 2-for-3 with a run.
Pacific dropped to 3-7 in the Northwest Conference with the two losses. Saturday's doubleheader, which was rained out, will be made up Wednesday beginning at 2 p.m.
