SPOKANE, Wash. -- Pacific put an end to one streak and started a new one Saturday afternoon at Whitworth.
After defeating the Pirates 9-4 in game one to stop a 16-game losing streak dating back to April 7, the Boxers followed up with a 3-1 victory to improve to 5-21 in the Northwest Conference and 9-29 overall.
Game 1
Pacific broke a 3-3 tie in the top of the third inning on an RBI triple by
Kayla Kodani to score
Chloe Knepp and never trailed again.
The Boxers finished with 17 hits in the win.
Faith Lawson was 3-for-4 with a home run, two doubles, three runs and four RBIs.
Michelle Winfield was 3-for-5 with a double and scored two runs.
Rylie Kihara also had three hits.
Karlie Espinoza pitched all seven innings, allowing 10 hits and one earned run to record the win.
Game 2
Kiara Baba held Whitworth to six hits and one run over seven innings to lead Pacific to victory in game two.
Tied 1-1, Knepp hit a two-run homer to right field in the top of the sixth inning. Knepp went 2-for-3 with a run and two RBIs.
Kimberly Ray was also 2-for-3 and scored two runs.
Next, the Boxers conclude the 2024 season Sunday with two more games at Whitworth.
