Box Score VANCOUVER, Wash. -- With the graduation of her sister, Pacific senior
Cassidy Binder entered the 2024 ITA Northwest Regional Championships with a different doubles partner.Â
But Binder finished with a familiar result. Playing with sophomore
Stella Nishimura, the Pacific tandem won the doubles draw Sunday morning at the Vancouver Tennis Center.
Entering the tournament as the No. 2 seed, Binder and Nishimura upset No. 1 seed Arianna Castellanos and Teleya Blunt from Whitman 6-3, 7-6(6) in the finals.
Binder also repeated as the singles champion, defeating Lewis & Clark's Susanna Anand 6-2, 6-0 in the A draw finals. Binder did not drop a set on her way to the singles championship, including a 6-1, 6-1 victory over Whitman's Jin Yu in the semifinals.
Pacific also won the singles B draw as senior
Valentina Casab-Klescova defeated George Fox's Cassey Hitch 6-4, 6-4 Sunday afternoon in the finals.Â
After dropping the first set 0-6 in the quarterfinals, Casab-Klescova rallied to win 7-5, 6-3. She then edged Linfield's Emily Redwood 6-3, 6-2 in the semifinals.Â
