Keiki McGee for 3" has a nice ring to it.
The Pacific freshman made four 3-pointers on her way to a career-high 28 points to lead the Boxers to a 63-51 win Saturday night at Lewis & Clark.
Pacific led by 20 points at halftime, thanks to 21 first-half points from McGee, who finished 4-for-7 from 3. The rest of the Boxers combined to shoot 0-for-14 from behind the 3-point line.
Lewis & Clark outscored Pacific 17-8 in the third quarter to get within 11 points, 54-43, entering the fourth. Two Pioneer free throws then cut the led to nine points before
Emily Holsan answered with a jump shot.
McGee then knocked down a 3-pointer to stretch the Pacific lead to 59-45 with 5:19 remaining.
Holsan finished with 10 points, six rebounds, four assists and five steals.
Anya Henderson added 10 points and five rebounds.
With the win, the Boxers improved to 1-1 in the Northwest Conference and 5-6 overall.
Next: Pacific hosts George Fox (9-2, 1-1) Tuesday at 8 p.m. inside the Stoller Center.
