Alecia Parker, who led Pacific to three straight appearances in the Northwest Conference Championship Game, has been named the head women's basketball coach at Whitworth.
Â
"We are grateful for Alecia's leadership and commitment to our student-athletes and the Pacific community over the past eight years," said Pacific Director of Athletics Keith Buckley. "She invested wholeheartedly in the program and helped create a strong foundation for continued success. We wish Alecia and her family nothing but the very best in this next chapter."
Â
Parker, who was 106-84 in her eight seasons at Pacific, returns to Whitworth, where she served as an assistant coach for four years before coming to Forest Grove.Â
Â
Parker led the Boxers to a breakthrough season in 2019-20, posting a 17-9 overall record and finishing second in the Northwest Conference at 11-5 to earn an appearance in the NWC Tournament for the first time since 2009. The Boxers hosted the first round of the NWC Tournament, their first playoff home game since 1996. The winning record was the first since the 2012-13 season.Â
Â
During the 2021-22 season, Pacific improved to 19-8 overall and reached the NWC Championship Game for the first time since 1996. The Boxers finished 12-4 in conference play, their best record since 1992.Â
Â
Pacific returned to the NWC Championship Game in 2022-23 and 2023-24.Â
Â
Parker recorded her 100th career win on Nov. 22, 2025 in a 95-92 double overtime victory against Colorado College.Â
Â
At Pacific, Parker was 11-3 against Whitworth, which included an 11-game winning streak. The Pirates finished seventh in the NWC the past two seasons and haven't had a winning conference record since 2015-16 when Parker was an assistant coach.Â

A search for Pacific's next head coach will begin immediately.
