Playing in front of the home crowd for the first time in two weeks, the Pacific volleyball team started strong.
But the Boxers could not keep up the momentum, falling 3-0 to visiting Willamette Friday night in Northwest Conference action.
Pacific opened up a 15-10 lead in the first set before the Bearcats took an 18-17 advantage and then held on for a 25-23 win.
Willamette jumped out to a 14-5 lead in the second set and cruised to a 25-11 victory. The Bearcats then won the third set 25-15 to complete the sweep.
The Boxers hit just .077 and had seven service errors in the loss.
Logan Smith led Pacific with five kills and three blocks.
Kayla-Jane Padayao and
Rorie Frias each had double-digit assists, finishing with 12 and 10, respectively.
The Boxers dropped to 1-7 in Northwest Conference play.
