MCMINNVILLE -- Down a goal late, the Pacific women's soccer team kept firing off shots.
But the Boxers could not find the equalizer in a 2-1 loss at Linfield Wednesday night.
The Wildcats broke through with less than 2 minutes remaining in the first half to take a 1-0 lead into intermission.
After Pacific junior
Taite Taniguchi tied the match at 1-1 in the 69th minute, Linfield retook the lead less than 4 minutes later.
The Boxers had four shots in the final 13 minutes.
Mirella Garcia hit the crossbar in the 78th minute and then fired a shot on goal with less than 15 seconds remaining in the match.
Gwendolyn Saing and
Rissalyn Hara also recorded shots on frame in the loss.
Pacific dropped to 2-2-6 in the Northwest Conference and 3-4-6 overall.
