TACOMA, Wash. — Pacific's offense woke up in the second half.
But the hole was too deep and Pacific's Lutheran's offense was too dynamic as the Boxers fell 47-29 Saturday afternoon to drop to 0-3 in Northwest Conference play.
Pacific struck first when running back
Brody Bantolina broke free for a 28-yard touchdown run to give the Boxers an early 6-0 lead. However, the Lutes responded with 30 straight points to take a 30-6 lead into halftime.
A 10-yard touchdown pass from
Keaton Smith to
Riley Camarillo got Pacific within 30-13 with 8:32 remaining in the third quarter. But Pacific Lutheran, who amassed 512 yards of total offense, quickly answered with a 6-yard touchdown reception.
Bantolina finished with 134 total yards and three touchdowns on 19 touches.Â
Smith completed 18 of 30 passes for 215 yards and three touchdowns but was intercepted twice.
Nehemiah Faleulu recorded 11 total tackles to lead Pacific's defense.
Keyon Mills had five tackles and an interception.
Next: The Boxers host Willamette on Saturday, Oct. 25 at 1 p.m for homecoming.
