A first-half goal proved to be the difference as Pacific dropped a tight 1-0 decision at home to Whitworth on Saturday afternoon in Northwest Conference men's soccer action.
The Pirates scored the only goal in the 22nd minute.
The Boxers best chance came late in the first half when
Adam Landy outran the Whitworth defense and passed off to an open
Carter Zeiset. But the Pacific sophomore's shot sailed high off frame.
Both teams generated seven shots in the contest, with Pacific putting three on target.
Caden Matsumoto led the Boxer attack with three shots on goal while
Kobi Miyamoto made three saves in goal to keep Pacific within striking distance throughout the match.
The Boxers pressed for an equalizer in the second half, creating a handful of dangerous moments but were unable to find the back of the net.
