TACOMA, Wash. --Â Behind a stellar effort from goalkeeper
Kylie Pascual, the Pacific women's soccer team battled to a hard-fought 0-0 draw against the reigning Northwest Conference champions Saturday afternoon.
The Boxers withstood heavy pressure from Pacific Lutheran, who outshot Pacific 17-4, including a 13-1 margin in the second half. Despite the offensive onslaught, Pascual anchored the Boxer defense with eight saves, earning her second shutout of the season.
Offensively, the Boxers generated a few promising opportunities of their own, including shots on goal by
Gwendolyn Saing,
Rylie Goo and
Rhyah Jackson.
The draw ended a 16-game losing streak to Pacific Lutheran, dating back to the 2016 season.
Next:Â The Boxers play at Puget Sound on Sunday at noon.
