Playing in her final home game, Pacific senior
Mirella Garcia was not going to be denied the game-tying goal.
After Pacific Lutheran goalkeeper Abby Winkler saved Garcia's penalty kick in the 83rd minute, the Pacific senior got the rebound and tied the match on a header to secure a 1-1 tie Sunday against the reigning Northwest Conference champions.Â
Garcia was active throughout the match, registering a game-high 10 shots, including five on goal. Pacific outshot the Lutes 20-12 overall and held a 10-9 edge in shots on target.
After a scoreless first half, the Lutes broke through in the 70th minute to take a 1-0 lead.Â

Kylie Pascual turned in another strong performance for the Boxers, making eight saves to keep the match within reach.
Pacific improved to 3-5-7 in the Northwest Conference, earning two ties this season against the 10-0-4 Lutes.
