Playing in front of the home crowd for the final time, the Pacific volleyball team got off to a fast start.

But visiting George Fox answered by winning three straight sets to hand the Boxers a 3-1 loss Tuesday night in the Stoller Center.

After racing out to an 11-4 lead in the opening set, Pacific held on for a 25-23 victory.  

The Boxers led 13-12 in the second set before George Fox went on an 11-2 run on its way to a 25-17 win.

Pacific took a 7-6 lead early in the third set. However, the Bruins responded with a 10-0 run and rolled to a 25-16 victory.

Trailing 6-13, the Boxers rallied with a 7-0 run to tie the fourth set at 13-13. Pacific then took a 19-17 lead before the Bruins went on a 6-1 run to  go ahead 23-20. The Boxers were not finished as they scored four straight points to take a 24-23 lead. However, George Fox closed the set with three straight points to finish off Pacific 26-24.

Pacific junior Emma Velchek had 16 kills, two aces and two blocks. Junior Rorie Frias recorded 22 assists. Senior Alyssa Cargill had 15 digs. 

The Boxers had 11 service errors to just four aces. 

With the loss, Pacific will finish eighth in the Northwest Conference. 

Next: The Boxers will close out the 2025 season on Saturday at Willamette.
