Pacific can't keep pace with No. 9 Whitman

WALLA WALLA, Wash. -- Pacific led one of the top teams in the country at the end of the first quarter.

But the Boxers could not go the distance with No. 9 Whitman, falling 80-56.

Pacific went 4-for-5 from the 3-point line in the first period to take a 16-14 lead at Whitman, who entered the game a perfect 13-0 in the Northwest Conference and 21-1 overall.

But the Boxers could not continue the hot outside shooting, making just 2 of 12 attempts the rest of the way.

The Blues, who took the lead for good with 6:02 remaining in the second quarter, led 33-24 at halftime.

Pacific senior Anya Henderson led the Boxers with 11 points. Freshman Keiki McGee had 10 points in the loss.

Next: The Boxers host Pacific Lutheran on Friday, Feb. 21 at 8 p.m. for senior night.
