The Pacific softball team could not slow down Oregon Tech.
The Owls, ranked No. 2 in the NAIA Softball Coaches Top 25 Poll and riding a nine-game winning streak, swept the Boxers 11-1 and 5-1 on Tuesday in a pair of makeup games originally scheduled for Feb. 15.
Pacific did land the first blow on an RBI single by
Kaimalino Ingram in the bottom of the first inning. But Oregon Tech, who held the Boxers to the one hit, answered with two runs in the third inning, and added four in the fourth and five in the fifth to win in five innings.
The Boxers never led in game two as Oregon Tech scored two runs in the top of the second inning. Trailing 5-0, Pacific loaded the bases with one out in the bottom of the fourth, but stranded all three runners.
Kayla Kodani finally got the Boxers on the scoreboard in the sixth, drawing a walk to lead off the frame and then coming home on an RBI single by
Ava Hlavacek.
Pacific had four hits and left eight runners on base in the game two loss.
