The Pacific women's tennis team is adding an All-American to its coaching staff.
Â
Sydnie Binder has been named assistant coach.
Â
After winning high school state championships in Idaho and Oregon, Sydnie Binder, the oldest daughter of Pacific head coach
Traci Binder, started her college career at Division I Boise State.
Â
She then transferred to Pacific in 2019, becoming the first Boxer women's tennis player to win over 100 matches.
Â
"We're thrilled to welcome Sydnie Binder back to Pacific University as our new women's tennis assistant coach,"
Traci Binder said. "Sydnie brings a remarkable blend of academic excellence and athletic experience, having earned double majors in Education and English in 2022 and her MFA in Creative Writing in 2024."Â
Â
At Pacific, Binder was a four-time All-Northwest Conference First Team and ITA All-Academic selection.
Â
Playing doubles with her sister, Cassidy, Sydnie Binder was named an ITA All-American in 2023-24 and an ITA Cup participant.Â
Â
"Her success on the court and in the classroom reflects a deep commitment to growth, leadership, and connection—values that resonate powerfully within our program,"
Traci Binder said. "Sydnie's return is more than a homecoming; it's a bold step forward for our team."
Pacific hosts the 5-Way Tournament this Saturday and Sunday at the Holce Tennis Courts.Â
