Pacific defense shines in 0-0 tie at Whitworth

SPOKANE, Wash. -- The Pacific women's soccer team recorded another standout defensive performance Sunday afternoon in a 0-0 tie at Whitworth.

The Boxers have allowed just one total goal in their last three matches, all draws.

Pacific withstood a heavy shot advantage from the Pirates as Whitworth outshot the Boxers 14-5. Pacific goalkeeper Kylie Pascual made five saves to secure her first shutout of the season.

The Boxers also held firm defensively after going down a player in the 80th minute when Angelina Koster received her second yellow card.

Pacific generated three shots on goal from Taite Taniguchi, Rissalyn Hara and Cyd Sugiyama.

Next: The Boxers play at Lewis & Clark on Sunday, Sept. 28 at noon.
