PORTLAND -- After three consecutive ties, the Pacific women's soccer team finally celebrated a win.
The Boxers edged Lewis & Clark 2-1 Sunday afternoon for their first Northwest Conference victory.

Mirella Garcia opened the scoring in the 16th minute, converting a pass from junior
Taite Taniguchi to give the Boxers an early advantage. Pacific doubled its lead in the 55th minute as senior
Gwendolyn Saing finished off a setup from Garcia.
The Pioneers cut the deficit in half in the 71st minute, but the Pacific defense closed out the match to preserve the result.
The Boxers outshot Lewis & Clark 13-6, including a 5-1 margin in shots on target.Â
With the win, Pacific improved to 1-1-3 in conference play.
