MCMINNVILLE, Ore. – Behind a career-high 12 rebounds by junior
Max Vacco, the Pacific men's basketball team edged Linfield 63-56 Tuesday night.
The much-needed victory snapped a three-game losing streak as the Boxers improved to 3-6 in Northwest Conference play.
Junior
Anthony Hrboka led the Boxers with 18 points, four rebounds and a career-best five steals. Senior
Lucas Gray had 13 points and four rebounds.
Tied at 30-30, Hrboka scored the final four points of the first half to give Pacific a 34-30 advantage at the break. Tied at 41-41, the Boxers went on a 7-0 run to take a 48-41 lead with 11:01 remaining.
Linfield then answered with an 8-0 run to go ahead 49-48 with 9:21 to go. But a Hrboka jump shot put Pacific on top for good, 55-54, with 3:33 remaining. The Boxers closed the game on a 10-2 run, which included going just 4-for-9 from the free throw line.
