SPOKANE, Wash. –
Alissa Hermansen tossed her first complete game shutout at Pacific. The junior allowed just four hits over seven innings to lead the Boxers to a 3-0 win at Whitworth on Sunday.
With the Game 2 victory, the Boxers took the series after edging Whitworth 9-7 in Game 1 earlier on Sunday.
Pacific finished 3-1 at Whitworth and improved to 8-12 in the Northwest Conference and 13-17 overall.
Game 1: Pacific 9, Whitworth 7
Tied 3-3, the Boxers scored three runs in the top of the fifth inning to take the lead for good.
Ava Hlavacek put Pacific on top, scoring
Kimberly Ray with a single to right center field.
In the circle,
Kiara Baba started and closed the game, holding the Pirates to three runs over 4 2/3 innings. After Whitworth scored three runs in the bottom of the sixth to get within 8-7, Baba got the final three outs in the seventh to earn the save.Â
Hlavacek finished 2-for-3 with a walk, a run and two RBIs. Ray was 2-for-3 with an RBI and scored two runs.
Kayla Kodani went 2-for-4 with a walk, a run and two RBIs.
Abby Surowiec was 2-for-4 with a double, a run and two RBIs.
Libby Hardee also had two hits in the win.
Game 2: Pacific 3, Whitworth 0

Hardee gave the Boxers a 1 -0 lead in the top of the third, driving homeÂ
Rylie Kihara with a double to left field.
Chloe Knepp then hit her sixth home run of the season.
Hermansen recorded four strikeouts in the win.Â
