NEWBERG – Pacific's
Cadence Schedlbauer wrapped up her freshman track and field season with a record-breaking performance.
Competing in the George Fox Final Qualifier on Thursday, Schedlbauer won the pole vault, clearing a new school record mark of 12-feet, 00.75 inches.
Noel Gutierrez also finished his freshman year strong by placing second in the men's discus with a throw of 145 feet, 4 inches. Another freshman,
Shaeli Sikes, finished runner-up in the women's discus with a mark of 128-06. Sikes also placed fourth in the hammer throw at 144-02.
On the track, senior
Ally Hammond won the women's 200-meter run in 24.86 seconds.
Freshman
Matthew Gray finished runner-up in the men's 100m in 11.06 and the 200m in 22.52. Senior
Henry Tierney took second in the 800m in 1 minute, 53.06 seconds.
Next: Hammond will compete in the NCAA Division III Outdoor Track and Field Championships on May 21-23 in La Crosse, Wisconsin.
