Pacific's Ally Hammond has been selected as the Northwest Conference Athlete of the Year for a women's team, the conference announced Monday.
The Northwest Conference Athlete of the Year award honors graduating student-athletes who have distinguished themselves throughout their collegiate careers in the areas of academic achievements, athletics excellence, community service and leadership. To be eligible, a nominee must have competed and earned a varsity letter from their individual institution and have earned their undergraduate degree by summer 2026.
"I'm honored to receive this award," Hammond said. "Being a collegiate athlete, while pursuing a degree, and still finding time to be involved with your community is no easy task - no matter what level you compete at. It takes real drive, hard work, and perseverance. Although, it also takes support, and I have received nothing but from Pacific University and the Northwest Conference.
"I'd also like to thank my coaches, friends, and family who helped me bring my collegiate career this far. My biggest takeaways from being a student-athlete are to be grateful for the experiences given to you, every one of them teaches you a lesson. Always give 110 percent and make the most of an opportunity that you've been lucky enough to partake in."
From Forest Grove, Oregon, Hammond was a four-time NWC Scholar Athlete, studying Environmental Science with a concentration in Chemistry and Toxicology.
A five-time Northwest Conference champion, Hammond leaves Pacific with 12 school records. Hammond was named the 2023 NWC Women's Rookie of the Meet and the 2026 NWC Women's Athlete of the Meet A four-time national qualifier, Hammond finished runner-up in the 60-meter hurdles at both the 2025 and 2026 NCAA Indoor Championships. She placed fifth in the 100 hurdles at the 2025 NCAA Outdoor Championships and third in the 100 hurdles at the 2026 NCAA Outdoor Championships. She was named the 2026 USTFCCCA Indoor West Region Women's Track Athlete of the Year.
In addition to her many athletic achievements, Hammond was also a member of Pacific's Pharmacy Club, volunteered at the local food bank and worked a summer basketball camp at Forest Grove High.
"I am thrilled and proud to see Ally receive this honor," former Pacific head track and field coach Ryan Huntersimms said. "She has poured her blood, sweat and tears into perfecting her craft. She is well-deserving and represents what it means to be a student-athlete in the Northwest Conference."
