FOREST GROVE, Ore. – Trenton Zimmermann scored in the 53rd minute and Kobi Miyamoto made four saves as the Pacific men's soccer team shut out Whitworth 1-0 Saturday afternoon at Hanson Stadium.
The Boxers improved to 2-3-2 overall and 2-1-2 in Northwest Conference play.Â
After a scoreless first half, Pacific broke through when Max Bowman played the ball to Zimmermann, who scored his third goal of the season to give the Boxers the lead.
Miyamoto made two saves in each half to record his first shutout of the season.
The Boxers finished with 10 shots, including eight on goal. Zimmermann led Pacific with three shots, including two on goal, while Nico Lomanto and Caden Matsumoto each added two shots on target.
Next: Pacific returns to action Sunday, hosting Whitman at noon at Hanson Stadium.
