Ethan Moss is now in his second year on staff at Pacific University, where he serves as the full-time assistant basketball coach.
Ethan earned his Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration from Pacific University in 2022 after spending five years as a member of the men’s basketball program.
Following his collegiate career, Ethan played professionally in Israel for nearly three years, competing for Hapoel Tiberias, Maccabi Aliyah, and Hapoel Lod. His experiences at the collegiate and professional levels have given him a unique perspective on the game and continue to shape his approach to coaching and player development.
Ethan’s coaching experience spans nearly every level of basketball through private training, youth basketball, high school club basketball, and collegiate basketball. He has coached internationally in Israel and continues to coach high school club basketball during the offseason. He is also the founder of MossLab Performance, his private player development business, where he works with players of various ages and skill levels. In addition, Ethan serves as a practice player for the Portland Fire and works closely with their player development coaches in a professional basketball environment.
As a coach, Ethan places a strong emphasis on development, particularly helping players learn how to work through problems independently. He believes that the best development comes from teaching players not just what to do, but how to recognize, understand, and solve problems for themselves. His goal is to help players develop the confidence and decision-making skills necessary to perform in difficult situations and become more complete, independent basketball players.
Originally from Los Angeles, California, Ethan attended Crespi High School in Encino before transferring to Prolific Prep, where he played alongside several future NBA and professional players and learned from high-level coaches. His journey through prep basketball, college basketball, professional basketball, and player development has given him a broad understanding of the game and the different paths players can take to reach their goals.
Outside of basketball, Ethan enjoys spending time at the beach, staying active in the gym, and being with his family.
