ResultsFOREST GROVE, Ore. — The Pacific Lutheran swim teams claimed victory over Pacific University on Saturday afternoon in a dual meet at the Forest Grove Aquatic Center.
The Lute women, defending Northwest Conference champions, topped the Boxers 159-39 while the PLU men outdistanced their hosts 131-71.
On the women's side, junior
Rachel Webster picked up Pacific's only victory, cruising to the win in the 200 butterfly in 2:17.58. She was also just nudged out of win in the 200 I.M. when PLU's Kyle Webb clipped her by six tenths of a second--2:15.61 to 2:15.67.
The men had four total winners against the Lutes, including a pair of victories by senior
Jack Lloyd. The Portland native (Wilson HS) won the 50 freestyle in 21.61 and the 100 freestyle in 48.25. Lloyd also anchored Pacific's first-place 400 freestyle relay squad, touching the edge of the pool in 3:16.62, topping PLU's team effort of 3:18.01.
The Boxers also got a win from
Raymond Miller in the 200 freestyle in 1:47.74.
Up next for the Boxers is a trip to eastern Washington next weekend, taking on Whitworth on Friday (6 p.m.) and Whitman on Saturday (1 p.m.).
