McMINNVILLE, Ore. — The Pacific men's and women's swim teams won six individual races and one relay, but fell to the host Linfield Wildcats on Friday evening inside the Aquatic Center.
The Linfield men topped Pacific 124.5-76.5, while the Wildcats women earned a 125-90 victory over the Boxers.
Pacific's first victory of the night came in the sixth event as
Raymond Miller (Portland, Ore.) edged out Trevor Gourley in the 200-yard freestyle. Miller out touched Gourley with a time of 1:48.13, while Gourley finished at 1:48.18. The third place finisher in the tight race posted a time of 1:48.73.
Kevin Quan (Portland, Ore.) snagged a win in the 50-yard freestyle at 22.31, finishing ahead of Matthew Hanson of Linfield and his time of 22.32.
The Boxers' first win on the women's side came from
Alissa Frazier (Oregon City, Ore.) when she won the 200-yard individual medley with a time of 2:14.71.
The 11th event of the evening, the women's 200-yard butterfly, was won by Pacific's
Rachel Webster (Normandy Park, Wash.) at 2:16.64.
Miller's second win of the night was in the 500-yard freestyle. Winning with a little more cushion than in the 200-freestyle, Miller touched the wall at the end of the heat with a time of 5:01.72.
The 200-yard breaststroke saw Pacific victories on the women's and men's side, after
Kayla Knock (Colorado Springs, Colo.) picked up a win at 2:34.74.
Michael Sakai (Honolulu, Hawaii) recorded a winning time on the men's side of 2:26.04.
The Boxers lone relay victory of the night came in the 400-freestyle relay as
Lauren McWilliams (Gilbert, Ariz.),
Stephanie Bultman (Bothell, Wash.),
Monica Krubeck (Brush Prairie, Wash.) and
Callie Hinson (Salem, Ore.) posted a time of 4:02.24 to earn the Boxers the relay win.
Pacific wraps-up the home schedule tomorrow with a 11 a.m. against the Willamette Bearcats at the Forest Grove Aquatic Center.
