WALLA WALLA, Wash. — Pacific junior
Maya Okamura pulled off the Boxers' lone victory on Friday evening as Pacific fell 157-41 to the host Whitman Blues.
The Boxers opened the night with a third place finish in the 200-yard medley relay, with the team made up of: freshman
Joelle Otterstedt (Springfield, Ore.), senior
Kayla Knock (Colorado Springs, Colo.), sophomore
Callie Hinson (Salem, Ore.) and senior
Colleen Murphy (Valdez, Alaska), finishing with a time of 1:59.29.
Murphy picked up an individual third place finish in the 50-yard freestyle, finishing at 27.19.
Okamura (Pukalani, Hawaii) cruised to victory in the 400-yard individual medley, touching the wall with a time of 4:57.09, while the second place finisher glided in at 5:01.57.
Otterstedt earned a second place finish in the 100-yard backstroke at 1:06.46, while freshman
Grace Connelly (Grants Pass, Ore.) was third in the 500-yard freestyle at 5:47.87.
Knock delivered the Boxers second place points in the 100-yard breaststroke with a time of 1:11.76.
The Pacific women wrapped the evening with a third place finish in the 200-yard freestyle relay with the team of: sophomore
Lauren McWilliams (Gilbert, Ariz.), freshman
Kimberly Garcia (Hacienda Heights, Calif.), Murphy and Hinson finishing at 1:47.72.
The Boxers are back in action on Saturday with a 1 p.m. start in Spokane, Wash. against Whitworth.
