FOREST GROVE, Ore. — Senior
Kayla Knock won her first event of the season in the 100-yard breaststroke, while the Boxers fell 143-59 to the visiting Puget Sound Loggers at the Forest Grove Aquatic Center on Saturday.
Pacific opened the morning with a third place finish in the 200-yard medley relay with a time of 1:58.88. The Boxers' relay was made up of freshman
Joelle Otterstedt (Springfield, Ore.), Knock (Colorado Springs, Colo.), sophomore
Callie Hinson (Salem, Ore.) and senior
Colleen Murphy (Valdez, Alaska).
Freshman
Grace Connelly (Grant Pass, Ore.) recorded a second place finish in the 200-yard freestyle with a time of 2:08.36, while Otterstedt finished third at 2:11.08.
Senior
Monica Krubeck (Brush Prairie, Wash.) was second in the 50-yard freestyle, touching the wall with a time of 26.59.
Another second and third combo came for the Boxers in the 400-yard individual medley as junior
Maya Okamura (Pukalani, Hawaii) posted a time of 5:02.33 to finish second. Sophomore
Lauren McWilliams (Gilbert, Ariz.) posted a third place finish at 5:08.25 in the 400-individual medley.
Krubeck posted her second runner-up finish of the day in the 100-yard backstroke, finishing with a time of 1:05.49, Otterstedt was third at 1:07.28.
Freshman
Sadie Mak (Stayton, Ore.) led the Boxers in the 17th event of the day, finishing third in the 500-yard freestyle with a time of 5:52.86.
Pacific's highlight of the meet came as Knock edged Puget Sound's Calista Skog in the 100-yard breast stroke. Knock touched with a time of 1:11.54, ahead of Skog who finished at 1:11.65. Okamura finished third in the 100-breaststroke with a time of 1:15.09.
The Boxers wrapped the morning with a second place finish in the 200-yard freestyle relay, posting a mark of 1:46.59. Hinson, Krubeck, Murphy and McWilliams made up the Boxers' relay in the final event of the day.
Next up for the Boxers is a trip to Walla Walla, Wash., on November 10 with the first event scheduled for 6 p.m. at Whitman.
