The Pacific University rowing team welcomed NWC rivals Lewis & Clark and Pacific Lutheran as well as the University of Oregon Club Team for the Hagg Lake Invitational Regatta to begin the 2017 portion of its schedule.
In the women's varsity eight posted a time of 8:15.03 and the novice four with a coxswain crossed the line in 9:25.13. The fastest varsity eight time came from Pacific Lutheran University, who posted a time of 7:09.05, followed by Lewis & Clark, who crossed in 7:13.57. Boxers' head coach Amanda Dudley felt the performance by Pacific was a good start to the season for a young roster that has shown real growth over the past month on the water. "We have had some setbacks and unexpected changes to our lineup recently and they stayed resilient and positive in all of their races today."
Next, Dudley and the Boxers will work on its small boat training and regrouping in the eight at the Logger Invitational on Saturday, Apr. 8 in Lakewood, Wash.
