Following the opening weekend of action, the Pacific University men's and women's swimming teams traveled to Walla Walla, Washington to face Whitman in a dual meet on Friday night.
The Boxers were led by
Hannah Brandow, who won the 200-yard backstroke (2:14.88) and second in the 200-yard IM (2:24.05). Also, in the 200-yard backstroke,
Alex Winslow was third with a time of 2:23.13; plus in the distance events,
Julia Crumb was third in the 500-yard freestyle (5:53.69) and 1000-yard freestyle (12:02.61).
Pacific also got points in the 200-yard freestyle from a fourth-place finish by Winslow with a time of 2:18.50 and
Kendall Rickey with a fifth-place effort with a time of 2:18.63.
On the men's side,
Hung Huynh was second in the men's 200-yard butterfly with a time of 2:03.56.
Aukai Kea was second in the 100-yard freestyle with a time of 51.15, one-hundredth of a second back of Easton Powell of the host Blues.
Reed Charron was impressive in the 500-yard freestyle with a time of 5:30.46, lowering his personal best by nearly 16 seconds.
Next, Pacific will face Whitworth on Saturday morning at 11 a.m.
