TACOMA, Wash. –
Kolby Nikolaisen (Sumner, Wash.) breaking Steve Puckett's 42-year old record in the pole vault highlighted the Pacific performances at the Peyton Scoring Meet at the University of Puget Sound on Saturday. Nikolaisen's mark of 4.75m (15-7) broke Puckett's mark of 15-6 which was set in 1976. His performance leads the Northwest Conference this year by over a foot.

Pacific's women won the meet with 124 points and the men finished second with 114 points. Nikolaisen was one of two Boxer men to win an individual event with
Garrett Stewart (Forest Grove, Ore.) being the other in the 800 meters (2:02.40). The Boxer women won three events.Â
Brynna Close (Riverside, Calif.) won the pole vault (3.10m [10-2]),
Shannon Hammond (Forest Grove, Ore.) won the triple jump (10.55m [34-7.5] and
Karen Du (Santa Clarita, Calif.) won the shot put (12.81m [42-0.5])

Several Boxers finished second in their respective events. For the women they included
Megan Eberhardt (Gig Harbor, Wash.) in the 400 (62.10),
Jess Knoll (Arlee, Mont.) in the 800 (2:25.59),
Stephenie Spencer (Bothell, Wash.) in the 5000 (19:02.26), Du in the discus (40.63m [133-4]), the 4 x 100 relay team of Eberhardt,
Kayla Richardson (Roseville, Calif.),
Candice Nkoy (Salt Lake City, Utah) and
Marissa Smith (Rancho Cordova, Calif.) (51.34) and the 4 x 400 relay team of Eberhardt, Knoll, Smith and Richardson (4:18.90). For the men they included
Garrett Price (Medford, Ore.) in the 100 (11.11),
Keegan Jones (Beaverton, Ore.) in the high jump (1.61m [5-3.25]),
Gaige Felix (Cheney, Wash.) in the triple jump (12.01m [39-5]),
Josh Huffman (Puyallup, Wash.) in the shot put (13.84m [45-5]),
Jacob DuVall (Moses Lake, Wash.) in the discus (46.81m [153-7]) and the 4 x 100 relay team of
Elijah Pine (Umatilla, Ore.),
Naom Bass (San Diego, Calif.),
Grant Brobeck (Clackamas, Ore.) and Price (45.92). DuVall's discus mark moved him from third to second on the Boxer top 10 list in the event.

Chris Butcher (Portland, Ore.) and
Jenna Hoiland (Happy Valley, Ore.) will compete in the Boxer Combined Event competition on Tuesday and Wednesday, March 27 and 28. The rest of the Boxer team will compete again on Saturday, March 31 at the Pacific Open.
