The Pacific University Women's Swim team used a combination of youth and veterans to win six events against George Fox just one week before the Northwest Conference Championships.
To kick off the evening, the women's relay team consisting of
Hannah Brandow,
Maya Okamura,
Alex Winslow, and
Kimberly Garcia took down the Bruins in the 200-yard Medley Relay.
Okamura would go on to win two more events, taking the 400-yard IM and setting a new personal best in the 100-yard Breastroke with a time of 1:12.19.
Freshman
Julia Crumb would come away with a pair of second-place finishes, one to Okamura in the 400-yard IM and the other finishing behind a Bruin swimmer in the 500-yard freestyle.
Brandow and Garcia would both add more wins for the Boxers. Brandow would take the 100-yard Butterfly with a time of 1:01.89 and the 100-yard Backstroke with a time of 1:02.75.
Garcia would come away victorious in the 100-yard Freestyle event with a time of 1:00.44.
For the men,
Aukai Kea would once again win the 50-yard Freestyle and add a second place finish in the 100-yard Backstroke, losing to a Bruin swimmer by just one-one hundredth of a second.
Kea would also be part of the men's relay team that took first in the 200-yard Freestyle event.
Reed Charron,
Ethan Hunter and
Hung Huynh would make up the rest of the team
Boxers are back in the pool February 7-10, in Federal Way, Wash. taking part in the Northwest Conference Championships.
