Whitworth Scores Two Goals in the Final Minute to Defeat Pacific

Box Score A pair of second half goals in the final minute propelled host Whitworth to a 2-0 win over the Pacific University women's soccer team on Saturday afternoon.

With the game tied at 0-0, the Pirates' Hannah Baumgartner scored to put host Whitworth ahead 1-0. 34 seconds later, the Pirates added an insurance tally as Rachel Wofford scored for the final margin. With the win, Whitworth raises its record to 5-11-1 overall and 4-8-1 in the Northwest Conference.

The Boxers, who fall to 3-12-1 overall and 1-11-1 in the Northwest Conference had five shots, including a pair by Lydia King in the loss. Whitworth was led by a four-shot effort by Kendall Sharp as the Pirates' outshot the Boxers by a 17-5 margin. Goalkeeper Kaycie Priske came off the bench for the final 45 minutes for the win, making a pair of saves.
 
Next, Pacific will face Whitman on Sunday at 11 a.m. in Walla Walla.
