The Pacific University men's and women's track and field teams competed today in the Linfield Jenn Boyman Memorial Invitational track meet at Linfield College. The day was host to windy conditions and rain in the morning events. Pacific competed well, placing 14 athletes in the top-three across all events, seven of which were individual victories.

In the sprints,
James Hoban won the men's 100m dash with a PR of 10.99.
Marissa Smith was runner up in the 200m dash with a time of 27.34, and
Megan Eberhardt was third in the 400m dash with a time of 1:01.01. The women's 4x100m placed third with a time of 51.34.

The Boxers' Serena Wallace and Eliza Irish each set personal best in the 5,000m run.
In the longer track events, Pacific women competed particularly well. In the 1500m,
Hannah Berdahl finished in a close second with a time of 5:00.78, and
Morgan Henry won her heat in a big PR of 5:17.87.
Serena Wallace continued her successful season by winning the 5,000m with a PR of 17:50.08.
Eliza Irish also had a big PR in the 5k with a time of 19:20.54.

In the throwing events,
Josh Huffman won the discus with a throw of 47.17m, and was runner up in the shot put with a new PR of 14.79m.
Jacob DuVall was third in the discus with a throw of 46.36m, and was also third in the hammer with a huge PR of 47.75m.
Jason Draper won the hammer throw with a mark of 50.58.
Karen Du was the champion of the women's shot put with a mark of 12.55m, and
Emily DeYoung was right behind her to finish third with a throw of 11.89m.

In the jumps,
Jenna Hoiland found success yet again in the triple jump, winning with a mark of 11.71m.

"The team competed well today in the given conditions," says Head Coach
Matt Lydum. "We're three weeks out from the Northwest Conference Championships, and will continue to prepare each week leading up. Today was a good step in the right direction for our team."

The Boxers will compete at home next Saturday at the Pacific Luau.
