Looking to build towards the start of the spring season the Pacific women's soccer team took to the field on Wednesday to take on Linfield in an exhibition contest and the Boxers snagged the 1-0 win.
After a scoreless first half that saw the Boxers take seven shots to Linfield's five the shot opportunities would be in favor of the Boxers in the second half also leading the match's lone goal coming in the 76th minute.
Maliah Jobe put one in the back of the net to swing the match in the Boxers' favor as
Katelyn Volchok recorded the assist. That would be the only one of the match giving Pacific the 1-0 win in exhibition play over Linfield.
While Jobe notched the lone goal of the contest the Boxers tallied 13 shots with both
Emma Gusman and Catalina Alvardo each recording a pair of shots. Inside the goal, both
Catherine Corlett and
Saya Brown saw action at goalkeeper and each recorded a pair of saves. As a team Pacific out shot Linfield 13 to nine, while both teams had four shots on goal.
The official season opens up for the lady Boxers on Sunday, February 28th with a Northwest Conference road tilt at Willamette with a noon kick.
