Pacific Dominantes Multnomah to Stay Unbeaten

Boxers' incredible shooting display leads to second straight victory

FOREST GROVE, Ore.- Pacific delivered another outstanding performance to improve to 2-0 on the young season, defeating a talented Multnomah team 96-70 on Friday night inside the Stoller Center.

The Boxers shot the lights out, posting a team field goal percentage of 52.1% while shooting 50% (11-of-22) from beyond the arc. Pacific's defense caused problems for the visitors all night, forcing 20 turnovers. The ball movement on the offensive end was fantastic as Forest Grove's team managed 29 assists, just four shy of the program record (33) set on Tuesday night.

Top Performers
  • Truman Young was the hottest shooter on the court for the second straight contest, racking up 20 points on 7-of-14 shooting with six three-pointers.
  • Ethan Chung put in another solid performance with 16 points on the night, going 7-of-14 and 2-of-3 from the perimeter.
  • Jared Cattell knocked down four triples in his 14-point day.
  • Lucas Winkler was just one rebound shy of a triple-double as the point guard went for 13 points, 12 assists, and nine boards.

How It Happened

Pacific's dominance started from the tip as three-pointers from Cattell, Moss, and Winkler sprung a 15-6 run to start the game. Young started to catch fire by hitting back-to-back threes to extend the lead to 12 points and the under-12 media timeout.

Cattell buried two more three balls coming out of the timeout and Chung added a layup to make the score 35-14 with nine minutes left in the half. Two more three-pointers from Young allowed the hosts to start pulling away and the Boxers would take a 57-31 lead into the break.

The second half proved to be much of the same from the Red and Black as they quickly pushed the lead to 31 points when Young sunk his sixth triple of the game. Pacific would cruise the rest of the way and closed out the Lions 96-70 to stay unbeaten on the year.
