Women's Swimming Earns First Win of the Season

Boxer women receive multiple standout performances to down Bearcats

FOREST GROVE, Ore.- The women of Pacific Swimming earned their first win of the 2022-23 season by taking down the Bearcats of Willamette 111-82 on Saturday morning inside the Forest Grove Aquatic Center.
 
The men's team suffered a 96-41 defeat but saw some solid individual performances within the squad.
 
Top Performances
  • The 200-yard medley relay team of Hannah Brandow, Allison Simon, Julie Abrigondeand Jazmyn Capron-Graves raced to victory with their time of 2:00.48 to earn 11 points for the team.
  • Madelyn Russell took first place in the 200-yard freestyle, clocking in at 2:11.22 to grab nine points.
  • Julie Abrigonde touched the wall at 5:17.11 to came out victorious in the 400-yard IM and followed it up with another victory in the 100-yard butterfly (1:05.33).
  • Hannah Brandow won the 100-yard backstroke with her time of 1:02.12.
  • Josh Joireman continued his excellent start to the season by winning the 100-yard butterfly (54.59) and the 500-yard freestyle (5:25.45) to post 18 points for the Boxers.
  • Phoebe Pratt and Anne Marie Grieder-Jacobs joined Capron-Graves and Brandow in the 200-yard freestyle relay to pick up the victory with their time of 1:49.37.

The women's swimming team grabs its first win in conference competition.
