MARSHALL, Tex. -- A
Lucas Winkler 3-pointer with 26 seconds remaining gave Pacific the lead at halftime. But the Boxers couldn't keep up with East Texas Baptist in the second half, falling 84-72 Friday night.
Winkler finished with 21 points and four rebounds before fouling out with 23 seconds remaining in the game.
Devin Fortune led Pacific with 22 points and nine rebounds.
Jake Blazona added 10 points, seven assists and three rebounds.
The Boxers shot 50 percent from the field, but just 23.5 percent from behind the 3-point arc.Â
East Texas Baptist used a 13-2 run in the second half to take a double-digit lead, 53-43, with 13:53 remaining. A
Zachary Bates layup got Pacific within seven points, 75-68, with 58 seconds remaining, but Pacific couldn't get any closer.
Next, the Boxers are back in action Saturday afternoon against LeTourneau University in Longview, Texas.
