Boxers Dominate Bearcats

FOREST GROVE, Ore.- Pacific men's basketball were able to end their losing streak picking up a win over Willamette, 99-68. 

Pacific made an impressive 12 three-point field goals of the 28 they attempted. They had an efficient night from the floor in general shooting 49% (33-67).

Top Performances

  • Jacob Bolger led the Boxers with 26 points going 9-13 from the field.

  • Lucas Winkler had a team-high 13 rebounds and dished out 8 assists. 

  • Antoine Stitt produced an efficient night going 4-5 from the field. 

How It Happened

The teams would trade buckets to start the game before the Boxers would hold the Bearcats for three and half minutes, taking a six-point lead with 14:57 remaining. With the Boxers leading 22-15 they would score three possessions in a row to take an eight-point lead with 7:58 remaining. The Red and Black would grow the lead to 14 to close out the half, 44-30. 

Over the first five minutes of the closing half, the Boxer would extend their lead by 20 at a score of 58-38. The Bearcats were able to dwindle the 14-point halftime lead to 11 midway through the second half. That did not last long, as the Boxer offense continued to build to a 31-point as they went on a 13-2 run to close out the half and take a 99-68 victory.
